Ticket sales
We advise you to reserve your ticket online in advance. If you purchase your ticket at the ticket office, you may have to wait an hour or more before you can visit the exhibition.
The busiest days are Tuesdays, Thursdays and weekends. Tickets are usually available at the ticket office for Wednesdays, Thursday evenings and Fridays. On other days it tends to be quieter between 12.30 and 14.00 hrs. Tickets can also be purchased at the museum for that time slot.

10,000 Tickets already allocated

The first advance tickets for Rogier van der Weyden 1400|1464 - Master of Passions at M went on sale on Monday April 20th. The exhibition doesn't open until September 20th but there has been a considerable demand for tickets for some time.

That demand proved to be even greater than anticipated! 10,000 tickets have already been allocated in the space of just one month. The weekends are filling up first and at the moment groups are snapping up the lion's share of the tickets. About a third of the reservations are from abroad.

This success is one reason why we are advising visitors to reserve their tickets in good time. To avoid overcrowding in the galleries, we are operating a system of timed tickets. A maximum of 350 visitors are allowed in at any one time. 

Guided tours must in any case be booked no later than three weeks before the date of the visit by phoning +32 16 20 09 09.

Pick your moment!

Monday April 20th is the big day! Tickets for Rogier van der Weyden 1400|1464 - Master of Passions go on sale. That's exactly five months before the start of the prestigious opening exhibition at M, Leuven's new museum. Sunday September 20th may still seem a long way off, but now is definitely the best time to buy a ticket. We are expecting a huge turnout. A maximum number of timed tickets will go on sale each day of the exhibition. Buy a ticket NOW and you will have the best of both worlds: you will avoid a wait at the museum and you can choose the time that suits you best. The same applies to guided tours, which must in any case be booked no later than three weeks before the date of the visit.

A new building. A new name. A new concept.
M or the diversity of Leuven. 

M. M for Museum Leuven. That's the name of the sequel to the Vander Kelen-Mertens municipal museum. M is the name of a new building and a new concept. That building will house early and modern art inspired by the city's diversity: Leuven the historical city of art, Leuven the innovative knowledge base... On September 20th 2009 M will take possession of a complex designed by architect Stéphane Beel. It will be the city's largest cultural institution and an important new landmark. M will open in 2009 with a remodelled permanent collection and exhibitions of work by Rogier van der Weyden and Jan Vercruysse.
